My aim is to transform personal  visual filtering into a contemporary visual language.

It is important for me to try to draw the essence out of history, dreams or predictions to shape an image of the present; to be constantly aware of time and place, but at the same time the timelessness of the individual self with all its emotional and cognitive turmoil. I view this as an urge for a simplified, complete overview seen through the kaleidoscope of the constant ego from which I can’t escape.

I am at this stage mainly interested in the intrusion of painted 3D objects, most often the human figure, on flattened, stylised surfaces. I strive to use the instantly recognisable figure to research the relationship between the object in focus and the more ambiguous realm of layers, forms and patterns surrounding it. These shapes are pieces of filtering interpreted from my life through the lens of a camera: they are real, but manipulated until they become mere patterns.

By doing this I hope to explore areas of my individual filtering and communicate parts of what I find.
